Is there anything better than treating the kids to an ice cream cone on a hot summer day in Sussex County? We can't think of one.

Luckily, We have a lot of great locally-owned ice cream shops in Sussex County where we can indulge in yummy goodness. Here are 5 of our favorite places for ice cream in Sussex County:

Agape Creamery

35287 Atlantic Ave, Millville

What we love: This is small batch ice cream at it's best! We love their seasonal "Secret Stache" flavors and my crew is happily enjoying their new fruit flavors in partnership with Parsons Farms. Plus, we can play a round of golf after our treat!

Vanderwende Farm Creamery

4003 Seashore Hwy, Bridgeville

23 Bellevue St, Dewey Beach

8374 Hickman Rd, Greenwood

300 Coastal Highway,Fenwick Island

What we love: When you say farm-fresh, you can SEE the cows that help make this amazing ice cream. We frequently drive(it's a haul) for this ice cream because it's WORTH the drive. Trust me.

Hopkins Farm Creamery

18186 Dairy Farm Rd, Lewes

What we love: While they're no longer a working dairy farm, the ice cream is still made with local milk. Between the playground, the cows, and the creamy ice cream, you have kid heaven.

The Ice Cream Store

 6 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach

What we love: Can you even READ all of their flavors?! With over 50 out of the box flavors, you're bound to find something you'll fall in love with.

Cup'r Cone

251 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth BeachAddress

What we love: When you use the word deluxe in your flavor profile, you'd better deliver. They DO. I haven't tried a flavor I don't like ( BigFoot, Lemonchill-o, YUM!). I'm going to admit HUGE mom guilt, for the last few summers, my husband and I would use our date night to find their truck and get ice cream so we didn't have to share with the kids. SHHHHH!
